Here's a sample of typical jams at the Infirmary.
They're just a few chords, and unrehearsed.
The arrangements are improvised by the players.
Tracks marked * indicate the recording was made the first (and possibly only) time it was ever played.
All jams are recorded live in one take, then edited down from their original length of typically 8-9 minutes. The Infirmary recording engineeer (Billy) makes a live stereo mix, and hands out CD copys at the end of each night to the players. Some jams are later remixed from the original 16 track master, using Cakewalk 9. The tracks may be spliced, but there are no overdubs and nothing is EQ'ed. The sound field usually puts Ed's guitar on the left, & Ray's on the right. More tech notes here. Enjoy! |
